It’s a beautiful iconic place: beautiful Italian architecture surrounded by serene nature. We hope to be back at some time in the future. Wife and I had such an enjoyable time at Balbianello. It all looks like a setting from a fairy tale story. The mini chapel, the garden overlooking the lake and berthing area. We didn’t purchase the tickets to the museum. I marvelled at how the landscapers could keep all the trees in such good shapes! I mean, it was like they all had a good smart haircut by a top class hair stylist! So we had a cool morning, a light crowd and lots of space to wander around.īalbianello is like a quintessential Italian garden.
It rained a little in the morning but the rain stopped at about 10.30am.
It was early June when we visited Villa del Balbianello. We’d purchased the tickets online the day before so it was a straightforward process at the gate. From Lenno it was a comfortable walk along the coastal path (well signposted) to Balbianello. We took a short ferry ride from Bellagio (where we were staying) to Lenno.
